June 12th, 2018 Sunnyvale, CA – Covalent Metrology announced today that it had formed an Advisory Board with four key appointments: Scott Thomsen, Giorgio Riga, Charles Wickersham, and Mark Harrison.
The Advisory Board will work closely with Covalent’s leadership team on strategy, product development and fundraising. The new Advisory Board Members offer a complementary set of skills and experiences drawing on highly diverse technical and business backgrounds:
Scott Thomsen was CTO and then President of Guardian Glass, a multi-billion global leader in glass and glass coatings.
Giorgio Riga is the founder and CEO of Riga Analytical and has more than 40 years experience in the analytical services business in Silicon Valley.
Charles Wickersham ran the global materials characterization organization for First Solar, the world’s largest solar manufacturer.
Mark Harrison was the Head of Strategy & New Ventures at PayPal and ran the North American Mobile business for eBay.
Craig Hunter, Covalent’s Founder and CEO, commented, “Our new Advisory Board is both highly accomplished and incredibly diverse, by design. We set out to constitute a group of Advisors that could help us in all aspects of our mission to build a new kind of metrology and characterization platform company. The Advisory Board reflects the perspective of our customers developing new products, our fellow analytical service providers, an experienced lab leader, perhaps most surprisingly, someone who understands very little about metrology and characterization per se but a tremendous amount about corporate strategy and platform businesses. It is an honor to be able to partner with such an esteemed group.”
