Covalent Promotes Pralav Shetty to VP and GM of Electron Microscopy and Failure Analysis

Dr. Shetty will continue to grow Covalent in its analytical electron microscopy and multidisciplinary problem-solving capabilities.

July 30, 2024 – Sunnyvale, CA. Covalent Metrology, a leading North American provider of premiere analytical services and metrology solutions, announces the appointment of Pralav Shetty, Ph.D., P.E. as Vice President and General Manager of Electron Microscopy and Failure Analysis (EMFA). As an executive at Covalent, Dr. Shetty is positioned to continue improving electron microscopy services and depth of technical consultation, leading to improved customer success.

Dr. Shetty joined the company in January 2023 with a background in technical consulting for consumer electronics products. His knowledge of mechanical, chemical, thermal, and electronic failure mechanisms of materials has helped clients from diverse industries. He started as Director of Failure Analysis, and in a short 18 months, the group flourished under his stewardship. In April 2024, the Electron Microcopy group was merged under his leadership and has experienced significant improvements in operational efficiency and customer relationships. 

Dr. Shetty has demonstrated a keen business instinct and dedication to customer success. His proven problem-solving record and commercial intuition make him an impactful leader over Covalent’s most complex problems and cross-disciplinary metrology solutions. Under his direction, numerous clients gained the strategic insights they needed to solve their most challenging problems.

This new role marks a transition in the leadership structure of Covalent’s analytical service groups. As Covalent’s first General Manager, Dr. Shetty will continue to oversee project execution while working closely with the company’s software team to enhance its solutions platform and the commercial team to better promote its services.
